Some branches of the SPCA in South Africa, like Umgeni in KZN, are now targeting white dog breeders and impounding animals which have no serious ailments, are loved and cared for. They are doing this so that they can levy fees - these same SPCA inspectors do NOT go to other parts of their jurisdiction, like townships, where the condition of dogs is appalling. Why? Because there is no money to be made there - welcome to the business model and the real face of the SPCA at Umgeni (among other branches) in 2023.
